Pocket relies on a 52 g device that snaps onto the phone (MagSafe) and picks up sound up to about 15 meters away. On October 16, 2026, it was listed at $129 instead of $199. Recapro records from the mobile app or the desktop app, with no device.
Video calls go through the desktop app
According to its documentation, Pocket’s desktop app, in beta on macOS and Windows, records Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet without a bot in the meeting. Recapro’s desktop app does the same. It captures the meeting audio from macOS 14.4 onwards, and on Windows 10 and 11 you start the recording on the computer during the call.

Pocket states “US-based hosting” on its home page. Its Trust & Security page adds that transcription and summarization run on US-based cloud infrastructure.
